001: Cold Harbor

The piers of New England seaside towns sit largely empty through the winter months, weathered planks exposed to cold wind and salt air. Grey water rolls in steadily against sand stiffened by frost, while the sky hangs low and heavy over the harbor. Where dozens of boats once tied up, only a few remain - the working vessels, the rigs and equipment of the men and women who head out before dawn, leaving the quiet harbor behind, carrying on through the toughest of seasons.

For the inaugural Current, we spotlight the men and women who still work these waters, and the ingredients that flourish here when everything else retreats. A cold weather menu rooted in New England, designed to feel sharp, clean, and unmistakably of this place.
